On Monday, December 9, 2019, the Coordination Meeting for the Preparation of the 2020 Population Census (SP2020) was officially opened by the Regional Secretary of Central Kalimantan Province, Fahrizal Fitri. The meeting was held at the Bahalap Hotel in Palangka Raya. It was attended by structural officials from BPS offices across Central Kalimantan as well as representatives from Regional Government Organizations (SOPD).

This coordination meeting aimed to foster synergy between BPS and SOPD to ensure the success of SP2020. The 2020 Population Census will use a combined method, featuring self-enumeration through an online census, which will run from February 15 to March 31, 2020, as well as traditional methods involving face-to-face interviews conducted by SP2020 field officers in July 2020.
