A large portion of Indonesia’s population still resides in rural areas. This is primarily due to the fact that most Indonesians continue to rely on the agricultural sector as their main source of employment. In 2019, 60.57 percent of the population of Central Kalimantan Province lived in rural areas. Additionally, 41.63 percent of the population in Barito Selatan Regency had agriculture as their primary occupation. To improve the welfare of rural communities, continuous and comprehensive price data, particularly in rural areas, is essential.
This data is collected through the Rural Price Survey (SHPed).
The 2020 SHPed Enumerator Briefing for BPS Barito Selatan took place on Friday, January 10, 2020, in the Hall of BPS Barito Selatan. The event was officially opened by the Head of BPS Barito Selatan and attended by all BPS Barito Selatan staff. Alongside this event, the VHT-S Enumerator Briefing was also conducted. VHT-S enumeration aims to gather indicators such as hotel occupancy rates, average length of guest stays, and more.
This data provides valuable insights into hotel characteristics, which serve as a foundation for planning and evaluation by government agencies, private sectors, business operators, or other stakeholders.
Through this briefing, field enumerators are expected to gain a solid understanding of concepts and definitions as presented during the session. As a result, the data collected will be accurate and reliable.
