Abstract

The total value of exports fell 37.49 percent from US $ 174.79 million (April 2020) to US $ 109.26 million (May 2020).
  • Mineral fuels are the mainstay of export commodities valued at US $ 69.91 million, or contribute 63.98 percent of total exports.
  • Exports to most destination countries decreased, including to China (28.72 percent) and Japan (26.36 percent).
  • The contribution of export transportation services through ports in Central Kalimantan was US $ 24.29 million, lower than the contribution of ports in other provinces which reached US $ 84.97 million.
  • Cumulatively, the total value of exports fell by 22.37 percent from US $ 1,057.29 million (January-May 2019) to US $ 820.80 million (January-May 2020).
  • The total value of imports rose 44.24 percent from US $ 2.17 million (April 2020) to US $ 3.13 million (May 2020). Cumulatively, imports fell by 56.94 percent from US $ 30.19 million (January-May 2019) to only US $ 13.00 million (January-May 2020).
  • The foreign trade balance has a surplus of US $ 106.13 million (May 2020) and US $ 807.80 million (January-May 2020).
