March 2022: Population Expenditure Inequality of 0.319, down 0.001 points compared to September 2021

Abstract

In March 2022, the level of inequality in the expenditure of the Kalimantan Tengah's population as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.319. This figure decreased by 0.001 points compared to the September 2021 Gini Ratio of 0.320 and decreased by 0.004 points compared to the March 2021 Gini Ratio of 0.323.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2022 was recorded at 0.348, down from the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.356 and down compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.353.
  • The Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2022 was recorded at 0.292, up from the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.284 and the same as the Gini Ratio in March 2021.
  • Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the distribution of spending in the bottom 40 percent is 21.01 percent. This means that population spending in March 2022 is in the category of low inequality. If broken down by region, in urban areas the figure was recorded at 19.29 percent, which means that it belongs to the category of low inequality. Meanwhile, for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 22.50 percent, which means that it belongs to the category of low inequality.
