Accountability Performance Rank, BPS Statistics Indonesia got the best 9th

On Wednesday, December 16, the Tempo newspaper highlighted on page 7, under the headline "Kalla: Performance Results as Ministerial Evaluation Material," that BPS (Statistics Indonesia) has secured a position in the "Top Ten" based on the performance evaluation results of the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPan RB) against 86 institutions. This achievement is a testament to the diligent and intelligent efforts of BPS employees across Indonesia.


The Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPan RB) and the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) released the performance evaluation results for 86 institutions. The evaluation process considered all aspects related to the implementation of performance management within government agencies, fostering a results-oriented work ethic. "Overall, the average score increased from 64.70 in 2014 to 65.82 in 2015," said Yuddy Chrisnandi, the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform.


Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi stated that performance stagnation or decline in certain agencies would result in the postponement of performance allowance increases. This decision aligns with the Civil Service Law (ASN Law), which mandates that civil service management is based on qualifications, competencies, and performance.


Vice President Jusuf Kalla emphasized that the evaluation results would serve as a basis for assessing ministerial performance. Kalla expressed hope that future evaluations would also measure tangible outcomes and improvements in public welfare.


According to Viva.co.id, the Deputy for Public Services from KemenPan RB also recognized ministries and agencies that excel in public service innovation. Bandung leads with 39 innovations, while BPS stands out as one of the most innovative agencies, contributing 24 innovations.


As a data provider, BPS continues to be a vital reference for ministries, agencies, and the public for census and survey data. The future performance of BPS will likely be gauged by consumer satisfaction in accessing BPS data. The accuracy and quality of data remain key focus areas for public scrutiny. BPS currently holds the 9th position with a final score of 73.86.
