Law No. 7 of 1960 on Statistics was enacted in Jakarta on September 26, 1960. Since then, September 26 has been commemorated as National Statistics Day. September 26, 2019, marked the 59th National Statistics Day. This day serves as a moment to enhance literacy and awareness about the importance of statistics in various aspects of life. This year’s theme for National Statistics Day was "Towards an Advanced Indonesia with Quality Human Resources and Data."

The theme aligns with the government's five-year priority program, focusing on improving human resource quality in areas such as health, vocational education, institutions, and talent management. "Statistical data is crucial in addressing such complexities, providing the government and other stakeholders with a solid foundation for developing more specific policies," said the Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Kecuk Suhariyanto.

The commemoration of National Statistics Day in Central Kalimantan Province took place at the BPS Central Kalimantan Provincial Office. The event began with a flag-raising ceremony led by the Head of BPS Central Kalimantan, Yomin Tofri. It was followed by a seminar themed "Towards Excellent Indonesian Human Resources through Data Literacy in the Era of Industrial Revolution 4.0." Additional activities included sports competitions and concluded with a fun walk. The series of events was attended by all BPS offices at the district and city levels across Central Kalimantan Province.
